“This is how you die.”

Quinn Brenner (Stefanie Scott) is a teenager who goes to the psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye), hoping to reach her dead mother. Elise has given up contact with the dead and turns her away, but a dangerous supernatural entity has already noticed Quinn. Leigh Whannell, in his first film as director, puts Elise in the room with a girl who is now marked, and a reluctant psychic is all that stands between her and the entity that has come for her.
