Intentions of Murder

A young man with a bad heart keeps coming back to the house of Sadako Takahashi (Masumi Harukawa), the common-law wife of a librarian, and each visit ends in an assault. Her husband Koichi (Kō Nishimura) barely registers her, and the intruder, Hiraoko (Shigeru Tsuyuguchi), starts offering her the idea of a different life. Shōhei Imamura puts a woman no one has noticed in a house that will not hold her, and what she stands to lose is the little she has.
