Invaders from Mars

“Their conquest has already begun. . . . He knows they’re here.”

One night David Gardner (Hunter Carson), a boy in a small American town, sees aliens come down from the sky, and by morning the people around him have started to act wrong. His parents George (Timothy Bottoms) and Ellen (Laraine Newman) are among them, and the school nurse Linda Magnusson (Karen Black) may be the only adult he can still trust. Tobe Hooper stages the town in stylized, theatrical sets, with David standing small inside them.
