“In the near future we must save Earth or leave it”

Sam Walden (Margaret Qualley), a young scientist, wants to find a way to keep a dying Earth alive, even as everyone else prepares to leave it. Her work is interrupted by Micah (Anthony Mackie), a man racing to catch the last shuttle off the planet. Jonathan Helpert leaves her alone with her research and her father's voice on the radio, and Sam is the last one still looking up at the sky.
