Io Capitano

In Dakar, Seydou (Seydou Sarr) and his cousin Moussa (Moustapha Fall) are sixteen and saving money in secret, with Italy as the only plan. Matteo Garrone follows them north through checkpoints, across the Sahara and toward the Mediterranean, a road that offers a great deal of ways to be robbed or left behind. The film is about the distance between the Europe they picture and the journey that anyone must survive to reach it.
