Arul (S. J. Suryah) is a filmmaker whose latest project has stalled, and he spends his days among people who depend on him for work. Karthik Subbaraj follows him alongside Michael (Vijay Sethupathi) and Jegan (Bobby Simha), three men each pressed by money and each reaching for a way out. Around them stand Yazhini (Kamalinee Mukherjee) and Ponni (Anjali), who carry the cost of what the men decide, though the men never see it.
