“A Latex Comedy”

Maggie Cheung (Maggie Cheung Man-yuk), a Hong Kong action star, flies to Paris to play the lead in a remake of Louis Feuillade's silent serial Les Vampires. Her director is René Vidal (Jean-Pierre Léaud), a once-celebrated French filmmaker whose crew, led by the costume designer Zoé (Nathalie Richard), seems unsure what he wants from her. Olivier Assayas follows the production through its hotel rooms and cramped sets, with Maggie in her black latex catsuit.
