“Break the sound barrier.”

Col. Ted Masters (Tim Thomerson), an Air Force pilot, has been shot down by MiGs from a radical Middle Eastern state, and no one in the military seems able to get him out. His son Doug (Jason Gedrick) goes to Chappy Sinclair (Louis Gossett Jr.), a colonel who likes the idea of two fighters bombing the MiG base and bringing Ted home. Sidney J. Furie sends a boy and his mentor against an air force with every hour counting against Ted.
