“Heroes aren't born. They're built.”

Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), an arms manufacturer and billionaire, is captured by insurgents in Afghanistan and forced to build a weapon. Instead, he constructs a powered suit and escapes, returning to Los Angeles determined to shut down his own company's weapons division. But his partner Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges) has other plans, and Tony learns that the real enemy was always the business of selling instruments of death.
