Island in the Sun
Maxwell Fleury (James Mason) belongs to a white plantation family on Santa Marta, a fictitious British-owned island in the Caribbean, where politics and social standing govern almost everything. Robert Rossen follows the Fleurys and the people around them as questions of race and class press on their private lives. Margot Seaton (Dorothy Dandridge) is drawn into a romance that her neighbors and the island's order will not approve of.
