It Can't Be!

In the provincial towns of the young Soviet state, ordinary people squabble over money, drink too much and miss the point of nearly everything. Leonid Gaidai splits the film into three short stories from Mikhail Zoshchenko, "Crime and Punishment", "Fun Adventure" and "Wedding Event", with Mikhail Pugovkin and Oleg Dal among the cast. Gaidai plays each one at a brisk, straight-faced pace and lets the foolishness do the work.
