It Felt Like Love

Lila (Gina Piersanti) spends a slow South Brooklyn summer trailing her friend Chiara (Giovanna Salimeni) and Chiara's boyfriend Patrick (Jesse Cordasco), the third wheel at every beach and stoop. She is fourteen, and she has decided to go after Sammy (Ronen Rubinstein), an older boy who is said to sleep with anyone. Eliza Hittman's debut sets Lila's wanting beside Chiara's easy confidence, and the friendship starts to feel less even.
