It Happened in Broad Daylight

A girl is found murdered, and Oberleutnant Matthäi (Heinz Rühmann), a police officer about to leave his post, takes up the search that his colleagues are ready to close. Ladislao Vajda, working from a screenplay by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, follows him as the case stops being a job and becomes the only thing he does. Matthäi and the detective Feller (Sigfrit Steiner) share the same case, and they come to read it very differently.
