It Runs in the Family

“Some families can survive anything. Even each other.”

Alex Gromberg (Michael Douglas) is a New York lawyer who wants to hold his wealthy family together, though his father, Mitchell (Kirk Douglas), and his two sons, Eli (Rory Culkin) and Asher (Cameron Douglas), keep pulling in different directions. Fred Schepisi follows three generations of Grombergs as they crowd the same rooms. The casting makes it literal, since Kirk, Michael and Cameron Douglas really are grandfather, father and son.
