“LOOK THIS GIFT IN THE FACE IF YOU WANT A BIG HORSE-LAUGH”

In 1934 Harold Bissonette (W.C. Fields) runs a small-town grocery, and he has just come into some inheritance money. Norman Z. McLeod follows him as he sells the store and buys an orange grove in California, sight unseen, over the objections of his wife Amelia (Kathleen Howard) and their children. Harold packs the family into the car anyway, a mild man set on one plan and not about to be talked out of it.
