I've Loved You So Long

Juliette (Kristin Scott Thomas) steps out of prison after fifteen years and moves into the house of her younger sister Léa (Elsa Zylberstein), who has a husband, two small adopted daughters, and a life Juliette has been absent from. Philippe Claudel keeps the camera close on the dinners and the small silences at the table. Juliette answers little, and she holds herself like someone still waiting for permission to come inside.
