J.T. LeRoy

“Based on the incredible true lie.”

In the early 2000s, the literary world is in love with JT LeRoy, a damaged young writer whose books have won famous admirers. No one has met him, because JT is the invention of Laura Albert (Laura Dern), who persuades her sister-in-law Savannah Knoop (Kristen Stewart) to wear a wig and sunglasses and play him in public. Justin Kelly follows Savannah as the act stretches over six years, with every new appearance raising the chance that someone looks too closely.
