Jack and the Beanstalk

“Be happy go wacky!”

Jack Strong (Lou Costello) is a good-natured loafer who takes a babysitting job alongside his partner Mr. Dinkel (Bud Abbott). To keep the kids quiet, they tell the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, and in the telling Jack becomes the boy with the stolen cows and the butcher beside him. A giant (Buddy Baer) waits in a castle above the clouds. Jean Yarbrough stages it as a musical storybook, with the comedy routines slotted in between the songs.
