Jack and the Beanstalk

“It's a wonderful world of family entertainment!”

Jack (Masachika Ichimura), an adventurous boy, climbs a giant beanstalk into a magical kingdom ruled by a greedy, tyrannical giant. Gisaburō Sugii directs this 1974 Japanese musical, drawn in the style of classical Western animation, with songs by Takashi Miki. Underneath the singing and the climbing, it is a story about a small person standing up to a very large one who takes whatever he wants.
