Jack Goes Boating

(2010)Directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman91 min · RComedy, Drama, Romance

Jack (Philip Seymour Hoffman) drives a limo in New York City and keeps to himself, until his friends Clyde (John Ortiz) and Lucy (Daphne Rubin-Vega) set him up on a blind date with Connie (Amy Ryan). Hoffman, directing for the first time, adapts Robert Glaudini's play, and the four of them make up two working-class couples whose friendship is about to be tested. Jack stands in a kitchen holding a boating lesson he hasn't yet taken, still in his limo driver's coat.
