“Real people. Real reactions. Real messed up.”

Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) is 86 and wants only to get his grandson Billy (Jackson Nicoll) across America and into his father's hands. The two drive east, and Irving has little patience for the 8-year-old riding beside him. Jeff Tremaine films it with hidden cameras, so strangers meet Irving and Billy in real time, and Irving's face stays fixed on the road.
