Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) is an 86-year-old with a cigarette, a flask and no filter, a character built from hours of makeup. Jeff Tremaine collects the leftover pranks from Bad Grandpa, with Gloria (Spike Jonze) and Irving's wife Ellie (Catherine Keener) joining the bits, plus a look at how the character was made. Each scene is a hidden camera in a public place, where strangers who never agreed to be in a movie are about to find out.
