“Some fantasies go too far.”

A prominent art dealer is found murdered, and the case leads somewhere nobody in the District Attorney's office wants it to go. David Corelli (David Caruso) is assigned to it, then learns that a key suspect is Trina Gavin (Linda Fiorentino), a psychologist he once loved, now married to his old friend Matt (Chazz Palminteri). William Friedkin works the investigation through procedural detail and lets the dread build in the waiting between scenes.
