Jagame Thandhiram

Suruli (Dhanush), a carefree gangster in Madurai, is recruited by the British crime lord Peter Sprott (James Cosmo) to help take down a rival. Karthik Subbaraj sends him overseas, where the work comes with moral questions he did not expect. The film keeps asking what a man owes the people he is hired to hurt, and whether a job done well can still be wrong.
