Chandru (Suriya) is a High Court advocate in Tamil Nadu who takes cases for people nobody else will represent. Sengani Rajakannu (Lijomol Jose), pregnant and from the Irula tribe, comes to him after her husband Rajakannu (Manikandan) goes missing from police custody. T. J. Gnanavel, working from a 1993 Cuddalore case, sets the lawyer and the wife side by side, two people with no reason to trust the system, pressing the same question.
