“If we tell you the truth, you'd want to hear a lie”

A car hits an 18-year-old girl on a dark road and drives on, and the story fans out from that moment. Maya Menon (Vidya Balan), a journalist, and Ruksana Mohammad (Shefali Shah), whose life is bound to the victim, are both pulled toward what happened. Suresh Triveni lets each of them close in on the truth, and each has her own position to lose by finding it.
