Jane Eyre

“The passionate tale of forbidden secrets!”

Jane Eyre (Charlotte Gainsbourg) leaves a bleak childhood behind and takes a post as governess at Thornfield Hall, hoping for a quiet place of her own. The master of the house, Edward Rochester (William Hurt), is dark, cold and abrupt, and Franco Zeffirelli gives them long evenings by the fire to size each other up. Friendship comes first between the plain young teacher and her curt employer, and then love.
