Janet Planet

“Everything changes in an instant.”

Lacy (Zoe Ziegler), eleven years old, is stuck at home in rural Western Massachusetts in the summer of 1991, and she wants nothing except her mother, Janet (Julianne Nicholson). One by one, three people drift into the house, each drawn to Janet, among them Wayne (Will Patton) and Regina (Sophie Okonedo). Annie Baker, in her first feature, holds the camera at a distance, so the house and the long summer light stay in view.
