Jason's Lyric

“Love is courage.”

In Houston's Third Ward in 1994, Jason Alexander (Allen Payne) works days and looks after his younger brother Joshua (Bokeem Woodbine), who has chosen a very different road out of the same hard childhood. Then Jason meets Lyric (Jada Pinkett Smith), and falling for her forces a question about how much of his life still belongs to the family. Doug McHenry keeps Jason between the two of them, Lyric on one side and Joshua on the other.
