Jauja

Gunnar Dinesen (Viggo Mortensen) is a Danish settler in Patagonia, and the desert he has come to is described only as a place beyond the reach of civilization. His young daughter Ingeborg (Viilbjørk Malling Agger) is with him, and the land around them has no names for anyone to follow. Lisandro Alonso frames the empty plains in a boxy, rounded-corner image, so the figures sit small and still inside the heat.
