Jimmy McCabe (Johnny Harris) was a youth boxing champion once, and now he drinks and drifts and has nowhere left to go. He walks back into the gym he grew up in, to the only people still willing to take him: the corner man Eddie (Michael Smiley), the promoter Joe Padgett (Ian McShane), and the gym owner Bill. Thomas Napper puts Jimmy back in training years past anyone's belief in him, and the fights ahead could cost him his life.
