“Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...”

Boats go missing off Amity Island, and Police Chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) is sure he knows why. Nobody on the town council will listen, least of all Mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton), who has a summer season to protect. Jeannot Szwarc sets it three years after the first attack, and the beaches are full again with swimmers who think the danger is over.
