Sarah Taylor (Liv Hill) is a teenager in Margate who gets bullied at school, answers to a boss who takes advantage of her, and looks after her two younger siblings. James Gardner stays close to her through all of it, and she gets by on dry humor and not much sleep. Her mother, Karen (Sinéad Matthews), is depressed and often unable to get up, and what holds the two of them together is the harder part.
