Snakes are turning up around the students who torment Jennifer Baylor (Lisa Pelikan), a scholarship girl from Appalachia at an elite Los Angeles boarding school. The other girls, led by Sandra Tremayne (Amy Johnston), mock her accent and her poverty, while teacher Jeff Reed (Bert Convy) watches it happen. Brice Mack builds a story about how cruelty over money and class gets passed down from the comfortable to the poor.
