Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life Is Calling

“A comic with one eye on his audience and another eye on the truth.”

Jo Jo Dancer (Richard Pryor) is lying in a coma after severe burns from a narcotics-related incident, and his other self steps out of the body to stand over him and watch. Richard Pryor directs and also writes, taking the stand-up comic back through his troubled childhood, his rise to fame, and the excess that followed. Along the way he is tied to Michelle (Debbie Allen), and what holds them together is memory.
