Jour de fête

François (Jacques Tati), the postman of a small French village, would like nothing more than to chat with whoever he meets and look over the traveling fair that has just set up in town. A newsreel about the American postal system sends him off on his bicycle, determined to deliver the mail faster. Jacques Tati shot it in Sainte-Sévère-sur-Indre, with villagers as extras, and François pedals on, glass of wine in him, never quite sure what the rush is for.
