Joy of Sex

“Somewhere between virginity and senility lies paradise.”

Leslie Hindenberg (Michelle Meyrink) is a teenager who has been told she has only weeks to live, and she decides that the one thing she refuses to die without doing is losing her virginity. Alan Holt (Cameron Dye) is the boy she sets her sights on, and the two of them stumble through her deadline together. Martha Coolidge directs it quickly and lightly, with the awkwardness of being seventeen kept in plain view.
