Judgment at Nuremberg

(1961)Directed by Stanley Kramer191 minDrama, History
“The event the world will never forget.”

Four German judges sit in the dock in Nuremberg in 1947, charged with crimes against humanity for the verdicts they handed down under the Nazis. Dan Haywood (Spencer Tracy) presides over the American tribunal, while Hans Rolfe (Maximilian Schell) defends the lead defendant, Ernst Janning (Burt Lancaster), against Richard Widmark's prosecution. Stanley Kramer lets the testimony pile up, and a verdict will decide who answers for the law itself.
