Julie Benton (Doris Day) has been married to Lyle (Louis Jourdan) only a short while, and already his attention has curdled into a menace she can't put into words for anyone who might help. A stewardess, she is watched, followed and shut inside her own fear, while the police detective, Lt. Pringle (Frank Lovejoy), keeps asking for proof she can't give. Andrew L. Stone's film makes plain how dangerous it is to be afraid of someone who looks perfectly respectable.
