Kagero-za

A playwright named Shungo Matsuzaki (Yūsaku Matsuda) meets a beautiful woman in the 1920s, and she may be the ghost of his patron's dead wife. Seijun Suzuki adapts a novel by Kyōka Izumi, the middle film of his Taishō trilogy. Shungo keeps going back to Shinako (Michiyo Yasuda), drawn on by a longing he cannot name and does not try to refuse.
