Mustafa (Liam Neeson) is an artist and poet held in exile, and he is finally allowed to start the journey home. His housekeeper Kamila (Salma Hayek Pinault) and her young daughter travel with him, while the authorities hunt the trio because they fear his words will stir a rebellion. Roger Allers draws on Gibran's 1923 book, and each of Mustafa's poems is handed to a different animator.
