Kandahar

Nafas (Nelofer Pazira) left Afghanistan as a girl and now works as a journalist in Canada, until a letter arrives from the sister she left behind. The sister writes that she will end her life before the last solar eclipse of the century, so Nafas heads back into Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. Mohsen Makhmalbaf sends her across the country in a borrowed burqa, and the story keeps coming back to how little a woman there is permitted to do for someone she loves.
