Kapo

In a Nazi extermination camp, the prisoners of Kapo (1960) are separated into those who will be worked to death and the few given authority over them. Edith (Susan Strasberg), a young Jewish woman deported there, is willing to do whatever it takes to stay alive, and she accepts a post as a kapo, a privileged guard over her fellow prisoners. Gillo Pontecorvo follows her as the role takes hold, and each day of survival costs her a little more of who she was.
