Kelly's Heroes

“They set out to rob a bank... and damn near won a war instead!”

Sergeant First Class Kelly (Clint Eastwood) is a worn-out American soldier in France in 1944, and a bank hidden behind German lines holds 14,000 gold bars worth about $16 million. He pulls in Big Joe (Telly Savalas), the loudmouth Crapgame (Don Rickles), and the tank commander Oddball (Donald Sutherland), and they go AWOL to get it. Brian G. Hutton plays the war as a crowded, noisy road trip with a dozen men talking at once.
