Kensuke's Kingdom

Michael (Aaron MacGregor) just wants to stay on the family's sailing trip, but a violent storm sweeps him and his dog overboard, and he washes up alone on a remote island. Neil Boyle and Kirk Hendry follow him through the frightened days of finding food, until a stern Japanese man, Kensuke (Ken Watanabe), who has hidden there since World War II, confronts him in anger. Michael is a boy a long way from home, and the old man's island is where he starts to grow up.
