“A storm of fear and fury in the sizzling Florida Keys!”

Frank McCloud (Humphrey Bogart) is an ex-GI who steps off a bus in the Florida Keys and into a hotel run by James Temple (Lionel Barrymore) and his widowed daughter-in-law, Nora (Lauren Bacall). A hurricane is building offshore, and the guests holed up inside include Johnny Rocco (Edward G. Robinson), a mobster with a gun. John Huston keeps everyone shut in, and the question is whether one man can still say a fight is worth having.
