Bahattar Singh (Akshay Kumar) wants to prove to his father, who runs a marriage bureau and thinks his son has failed at everything, that he can make a match himself. He takes on the one job nobody else will touch: finding a husband for the sister of Tatya Tukaram Tendulkar (Mithun Chakraborty), a gangster. Ashish R. Mohan builds the film around that errand, and a wrong move now puts more than a father's good opinion on the line.
