Killer of Sheep
Stan (Henry G. Sanders) works at a slaughterhouse in Watts, Los Angeles, and he is tired in a way that sleep doesn't touch. Charles Burnett, who shot the film in 1972 and 1973 as his UCLA thesis, follows him through the days with a grainy, handheld plainness. At home, Stan's Wife (Kaycee Moore) reaches for him, and he can't quite reach back.
