Oil has made the Osage some of the richest people in 1920s Oklahoma, and members of the nation keep turning up dead, one after another. Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) returns from the war and goes to work for his uncle, the cattleman William Hale (Robert De Niro), a man the town treats as a friend. Martin Scorsese puts Ernest beside Mollie (Lily Gladstone), and what grows between them is real affection, set against everything around them.
