Killing the Shadows
In the mid-14th century, the Ottoman Empire is still taking shape, and two men are making a living out of their own jokes. Karagöz (Haluk Bilginer) is a nomad, and Hacivat (Beyaz) is a jester, and Ezel Akay's bawdy fable follows them as the legendary figures behind Turkey's shadow play. Their laughter keeps them together, and the film is mostly about how close the two of them are.
